Day 1: Hochiminh City (-/-/D)
AM: Meet up at Tan Son Nhat Int'l Airport then transfer your hotel
PM: 14:00 travel out the city center to fit & test your bikes.
Day 2: Hochiminh City - Loc An Beach: 102 km (B/L/-)
AM:
Drive out of town for about 45 minutes, and then cross on the Cat Lai
ferry where we start cycling to Loc An Beach. The roads are very quiet
with good scenery, as you cycle towards the coast through rubber,
cashew nut and black pepper plantations.

Day 3: Loc An - Phan Thiet: 153km (B/L/-)
AM: Quiet roads take us to the coastal desert reserve at Phuoc Buu

Cycle along side large sand dunes & plantations of the bizarre
looking Dragon Fruit Gardens and rejoin the Highway No.1 from where we
will drive the final 40km to Phan Thiet
Day 4: Phan Thiet Uphill to Bao Loc 121km (B/L/-)
AM:
We head into some very scenic & isolated country today. As we climb
up to the Central Highlands we pass through the lands of the K'Ho
ethnic minority, although officially banned you will still see evidence
of their traditional slash & burn agriculture. Have a picnic lunch

Little visited by western tourists, this wild area has some great roads
thanks to the Da Mi hydro lake. As you near Bao Loc the land becomes
cultivated with tea & coffee plantations.
Day 5: Bao Loc Uphill to Da Lat 114km (B/L/-)
Today's
ride takes us on a gradual uphill climb to Da Lat. At 1,475 meters
above sea level, Da Lat is a temperate region dotted with lakes and
waterfalls and surrounded by evergreen forests. Once known as "Little
Paris", this was once a French hill station. The surrounding hills
provide South Vietnam with the more temperately grown flowers, fruits,
and vegetables.
Day 6: Da Lat (B/L/-)
AM: Ride your bikes to visit a silk embroidery village, travel by cable car to the Zen Pagoda
PM:
Free for explore Da Lat is an excellent area to explore by foot or
cycle. You may wish to visit the "Crazy House", Xuan Huong Lake, with
its weird architecture, or the Art Deco summer palace built for former
emperor Bao Dai in 1933. (A half-day tour to an ethnic village is an
optional extra)
Day 7: Da Lat Downhill to Phan Rang 110km (B/L/-)
AM:
Enjoy a wonderful downhill ride to Phan Rang, capital of the Ninh Thuan
province. It is well known for growing grapes, and for the neighbouring
town of Thap Cham, once the capital of the Cham kingdom and home to
some of the best preserved Cham ruins. You have time to visit some of
the ruins.

Day 8: Phan Rang - Nha Trang 105km (B/L/-)
AM: Take a nice seaside ride to Nha Trang, the coastal capital of Khanh Hoa province.
PM: Free
Day 9: Nha Trang Islands (B/L/-)
AM:
Take a boat trip to visit a fishing village where you will be rowed
ashore in Vietnamese round boats and have time to swim and snorkel; the
Oceanographic Institute and Tri Nguyen Aquarium & have lunch at a
lovely offshore bamboo restaurant.
PM: Free
Day 10: Nha Trang - Qui Nhon: 241 km (B/L/-)
AM: Transfer to Doc Let then cycle the stretch of coastal road to Dai Lanh (93 km).
PM:
We will have time for a swim before continuing to Tuy Hoa. The area
around Tuy Hoa is the rice bowl of the province and you will pass many
rice fields, shrimp farms and coconut palms. Few tourists stop on this
stretch of road, so you will be a novelty - enjoy the contact. You will
drive the final part to Qui Nhon.
Day 11: Qui Nhon - Quang Ngai: 178 km (B/L/-)
Cycle
to Sa Huynh (118 km) before driving to Quang Ngai (for those that want
distance, it is possible to cycle the whole way today). The small town
of Sa Huynh is a pleasant fishing backwater perched on a broad curve of
palm fringed, golden sand. Speckled with blue fishing boats, sleepy Sa
Huynh is a convenient and relaxing place to rest en route to points
north.
Day 12: Quang Ngai - Hoi An: 118km (B/L/-)
No
major hills today. We will sample a slice of rural Vietnamese life as
we take a lovely side road out of Quang Ngai. On the way, we will pass
through My Lai, where you will have the opportunity to visit the
memorial site. It is now a peaceful garden with stone carvings of some
of the women and children who are buried nearby and a museum dedicated
to the residents of this hamlet. We will also cycle through a fishing
village & a lively local market. The route includes 12km of
unsealed road, it is OK to cycle on but you will have the option to
take a ride if you wish. The day finishes at the very attractive and
historic town of Hoi An.
Day 13: Hoi An (B/-/-)
Have
a full day to explore this delightful town with its street side cafes,
artists and markets. Explore the historic architecture of Japanese and
French origin. You can take a gentle ride (10km return) to fabulous Hoi
An beach, or cycle to outskirts for a local speciality of Cu Lao Cham.
Day 14: Hoi An - Lang Co - Hue: 142 km (B/-/D)
Hoi An to Lang Co Beach: 75 km / 47 mi
AM:
We cycle to Marble Mountain via a quiet back road, & then continue
through Danang (you have the option of visiting the Cham museum) to
China Beach where American service men went for their R&R during
the Anti-American War. On the way, stopover to take photo at famous Hai
Van Pass waits to be conquered.
PM: Stop at Lang Co Beach for
lunch before continuing to Hue. Dinner tonight is an amazing
traditional "Royal Feast" - you will literally be treated like Kings.
Day 15: Hue - Departure (B/L/-)
AM:
Hue is steeped in 300 years of history and is a great place to explore
by cycle. The city is built on the banks of the Perfume River. You will
have time to briefly explore the Citadel by cycle. Return to the hotel
to join the farewells lunch.
PM: Transfer to the airport for departure.
