Day 1 HANOI

On arrival, welcome by your guide at the airport and proceed to your selected hotel. (For arrival in the morning, hotel room will be available only from 13h00).

Day 2 HANOI   (B)

After breakfast, spend your day touring the capital and visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, its former residence, One Pillar Pagoda, Tran Quoc Pagoda and Temple of Literature. In the afternoon, visit the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (closed on Monday), Ngoc Son Temple, enjoy a one-hour rickshaw tour of the capital then spend some times in the old quarter with its antique shops.

Enjoy the water puppet show early in the evening.

Day 3 HANOI / HALONG / HANOI   (B/L)

After an early breakfast at the hotel, you travel by road to majestic Halong Bay. On arrival, board a private boat for a 4-hour cruise through mystical Halong Bay and admire one of the natural marvels of Vietnam. Visit islets, caves and weather permitting, enjoy a swim into the clear waters of the Gulf of Tonkin. A delicious seafood lunch will be served on board. Return to Hanoi in the evening.

Day 4 HANOI / DANANG / HOI AN   (B)

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart to the airport for your morning flight to Danang. On arrival, visit the Cham Museum. Continue to the riverside town of Hoi An, which was an important trading port during the 17th and 18th centuries and which is now considered a UNESCO World Heritage site. Check into the hotel and then take a walking tour around Hoi An's ancient quarter and explore its treasures including the Japanese Bridge, Phuc Kien Pagoda, Phung Hung Old Merchant House, and Quang Dong Assembly Hall and visit a lantern making cottage and try to make your own lantern.

Day 5 HOI AN / DANANG / HUE   (B)

After an early breakfast, leave for Hue via the Hai Van Pass. On arrival in Hue, visit the Imperial Citadel and Emperor Tu Duc's Tomb and in the afternoon, take a boat trip along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda before checking into the hotel.

Overnight in Hue.

 

Day 6 HUE / HO CHI MINH CITY   (B)

After an early breakfast, leave to Hue Airport for your morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). On arrival, proceed to your selected hotel. In the same morning, discover the bustling Saigon: Enjoy a tour in the Old Colonial Residential Quarter with the old Hotel de Ville, the Opera House, the 19th century Notre-Dame Cathedral, the beautiful Central Post Office and the Reunification Palace (outside). In the afternoon, visit the War Remnants Museum, continue to Cho Lon and the bustling Binh Tay Market then discover Giac Lam Pagoda, considered to be the oldest in the city. Finally, end the day with a visit to a lacquer ware factory.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Day 7 HO CHI MINH CITY / BEN TRE / HO CHI MINH CITY   (B/L)

After breakfast, depart from your hotel to Ben Tre Province in the Mekong Delta. On arrival, take a boat trip along islets and tropical orchards. Travel through Xep Canal and reach a small island where a horse-drawn cart awaits you. Enjoy a tour through the island discovering small villages. Stop en route to taste tropical fruits and visit a bee farm, then continue on a rowboat through narrow, tree-lined canals. Enjoy lunch at a garden restaurant. Visit then handicraft villages and a coconut candy factory before returning to shore and driving back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Day 8 HO CHI MINH CITY   (B/L)

Free time until your departure to Tan Son Nhat airport for your flight.

  • Transfers by private air-conditioned vehicle as per program.
  • English speaking guide for each area except during time at leisure.
  • Entry fees for all sightseeing as mentioned on the program.

  • Meals as mentioned on the program: (B) for breakfast, (L) for lunch or (D) for dinner.

  • Visa for Vietnam.

  • In general most places (shops, markets) are closed in Vietnam throughout the period of the Lunar New Year (from January 25th to 29th 2009).
