In 1929, a market made of trunks, roofsheet-covered called “trunk market” was built on the location of 3 Thang 4 Cinema, Hoa Binh Area now.

In 1937, after a big fire, SIDEC Company built a brick market replacing “trunk market”.

In 1958, current Dalat market was started to build on a marshy ground grown with cresson, designed by Architect Nguyen Duy Duc, built by Contractor Nguyen Linh Chieu, finished in 1960. Later, Architect Ngo Viet Thu reorganized the market.

On April 3, 1993, Area B was started to build . Architecct Le Van Rot and Tran Hung designed. Dalat People’s Committee and Viet Hoa Bank Ho Chi Minh City co-operated to invest.

Dalat Market has 3 stories, one of the first storied market in Vietnam.
