
Pick up at your hotel and drive to Ba Be Lake via Thai Nguyen. Local lunch in Bac Can. Arrive in Ba Be early in the afternoon. Visit the show room and layout of Ba Be National Park before taking a small boat trip to one of the lakes and through Nang River as far as the Dau Dang Waterfalls. Discover the national park and visit a Tay village of Polu. Check into your hotel.
Overnight in Ba Be.
After breakfast, drive through the well preserved Ba Be national park to the delightful Tay village of Pac Ngoi. Continue the drive to Cao Bang. On the way, you may stop at one of the local markets (depending on which day of the week) and visit some minority villages. Lunch en route.
Overnight in Cao Bang.
After breakfast, drive to a local minority market (normally on weekends or every 5-10-20th day of lunar calendar) and the beautiful 800-meter long grottoes of Nguom Ngao before arriving at the famous Ban Gioc Waterfalls that marks the border between Vietnam and China. Return to Cao Bang in the afternoon stopping along the way to visit the 100 year old forging village of Phuc Sen.
Overnight in Cao Bang.
After breakfast, drive to Ha Giang with majestic scenery and stunning views over the valleys, mountains and bamboo forests. On the way, stop at Tin Tuc Market (only possible on the 5th, 10th and 15th days of the lunar calendar). Visit the small village of the San Chi people. Continuing by road, you will have the chance to meet the White H’Mong, Lolo, Nung and Tay near Bao Lac. Lunch en route. Arrive in Ha Giang late afternoon.
Overnight in Ha Giang.
After
breakfast, depart for Dong Van via mountainous roads and many valleys.
Along the way, visit the Bo Y Village and Binh Yen Standing Stone
before arriving in Quan Ba. Visit the H’Mong village of Lung Tam to
discover the art of traditional weaving and embroidery.
Lunch in Yen Minh.
Continue
by road through the steep mountain passes and forests to Dong Van via
Meo Vac and the famous Happiness Road. Continue through the impressive
Ma Pi Leng Pass. Check into the hotel in Dong Van and take a walk
through the old streets with houses over 100 years old.
Overnight in Dong Van.
After
breakfast, visit the Dong Van market and Saphin market as well as Vua
Meo - the Palace of the King of H’Mong. Continue by road to Pho Bang
which features old multi-level houses made of clay bricks with tiled
roofs. If visiting Dong Van on a weekend, one can shop at an authentic
mountain market where all sorts of products, including colourful
traditional clothing can be purchased.
Lunch en route.
Drive back to Ha Giang.
Dinner and overnight at the silt house of Me Village.
After
breakfast, visit the beautiful Tay village of Phuong Do with its stilt
houses, fish ponds and rice fields then drive back to Hanoi.

Arrive in Hanoi late in the afternoon.
