BAT TRANG CERAMIC VILLAGE

Located just 30 km from Ha Noi, Bat Trang is one of the most well known handicraft villages in Vietnam, where you can find a whole world of the pottery and ceramic items. They are reproduction of various traditional styles which are renewed to the world thanks to their harmonious beauty, original shape, enameled screen and drawing stroke. They come in many forms and size, from dinner services and bowls to vases and lamp bases, from statue of Buddha to small figures of wildlife animals. You can witness the whole production procedure, starting from making clay, shaping the item to drawing on and putting them in the oven. On top of that, they are amazingly cheap.



 

QUAN HO SONG VILLAGE

Quan Ho is a kind of romantic folk song performed by groups of young women and men singing alternatively. The songs are usually performed in springtime amidst natural landscapes, in the yard of a communal house or pagoda on the hill, in a rowboat, or other traditional places.




 

This half-day trip will take you to a Quan Ho village just 30 km from Ha Noi. When arriving in the village gate you will be transferred by buffalo cart for about 20 minutes to the village center. Then just enjoy Quan Ho performance of the finest artists in the village's communal house, which are built two hundred years ago. There would be around from 10 to 30 artists of different ages, from old women to small girls. Back to Hanoi.




 

DONG HO PAINTING VILLIGE

Dong Ho paintings are well known for their uniqueness. They are painted only in Dong Ho village (45 km from Ha Noi) on the special kind of paper which made from a special kind of tree (cay do). Villagers use simple natural materials to make different colors for the paintings. Each painting expresses either a folk story or a poem. Taking this trip to Dong Ho village, you will see how the paintings are made and you may try to make a copy for you. You will talk to Master Nguyen Dang Che, who has achieved international recognition.



 

DISCOVER HANDICRAFT VILLAGES

This full day trip will take you to four villages surrounding Ha Noi. In the morning you will visit Bat Trang pottery and Van Ha wood carving villages. Van Ha village is located 25 km from Ha Noi to the North. This is one of the largest centers making wood statue in Vietnam. Each family is a small producer, which has around 10 people as labour force. From a piece of wood of different sizes, they carve (chisel) and make a variety of statues such as Buddha, Eagle, Heroes (warriors), etc.


After lunch in Ha Noi, you will visit Van Phuc silk village, renowned for making different kinds of silk. Next stop is Duyen Thai, where lacquer ware paintings are made.




 

PERFUME PAGODA

Perfume Pagoda (or Huong Pagoda) - a natural scenery - 75 km southeast of Ha Noi (Ha Tay Province) is a harmonious blend between mountains, forests, streams, lakes, grottoes and pagodas. Huong Pagoda was built at the end of 17th century and since then it has become a center of pilgrimage for thousands of Buddhists during Annual Pagoda Festival. Upon arrival in Huong Pagoda, you will take a boat along Yen stream to enjoy the beautiful landscape with many mountains of different shapes and sizes. Then it is interested to climb up (more than a thousand of steps) the mountain to visit Huong Tich Grotto, Thien Tru and Thien Son Pagoda. Lunch en-route with fast food. Return to Ha Noi in the late afternoon.



 

THAY AND TAY PHUONG PAGODAS

Tay Phuong (the West) Pagoda was built in the 8th century on the top of mount Cau Lau (50m high) of Thach That district, 37km from the center of Ha Noi. The pagoda is not only an original architecture but also a convergence of outstanding works of the statue sculpture art. With more than one hundred of finest statues, it is considered as a museum of Buddha statues in Vietnam.

Thay Pagoda is located just about 15 km from Tay Phuong Pagoda. Thay Pagoda is well known for its beautiful landscape, large statues and legends. Lunch en route admits natural scenery.



 

TAM COC AND HOA LU

(Full day tour)

These famous sites are located in Ninh Binh Province, 95 km from the south of Ha Noi. Tam Coc is known as �Ha Long Bay onland�. On arrival, you will take a similar dreamy boat ride to visit Tam Coc caves. Your rower will negotiate the boat through shallow rice paddies and three splendid long caves. The rice paddies are surreally framed by giant outcrops and grottoes. On the way coming back you can visit a small century temple built in the 13th, called Thai Vy Temple. Next stop is Hoa Lu, which was the capital of the Dinh and Early Le Dynasties in Vietnam in the 10th and the 11th centuries. The sanctuaries were built in the 17th century. And you will see the stone pedestal of a royal throne, bronze bells and statue of the Emperors.


Another �version� of this tour is going to Van Long and Dich Long. On arrival, you will take a buffalo cart ride for about 30 minutes, then a boat trip for 3 hours on the surface of Van Long water area. It is primitive natural scenery. Dich Long is one of the three most beautiful caves in Vietnam.



 

HOA BINH AND MAI CHAU

Located 74-km southwest of Ha Noi, Hoa Binh is the site of the largest hydroelectric station on the Song Da River. This area is home to many hill-tribe people, including Muong and Tai, the two largest ethnic groups in the northern Vietnam. Mai Chau lies in a pretty valley with a patchwork quilt of rice, farms, and long houses. In the spring Mai Chau displays a riot of colour with blooming flowers and peach blossoms. It�s only 60-km southwest of Hoa Binh and it is home to black Tai and Hmong ethnic groups. For one day tour, you can visit only one place, either Hoa Binh or Mai Chau in your program.



 

HA LONG BAY

Ha Long Bay - the most scenery of Vietnam. Whoever comes to Vietnam should not miss the chance to visit Ha Long Bay, a picturesque blend of harmonious transition between the land and the sea, the continent and the ocean.


Ha Long Bay belongs to Bac Bo Gulf (about 200km from Ha Noi) and stretches an area of 1,500 square kilometre with thousands of green gem like rocky islands. This is really a gigantic exhibition: under the hand of the Nature, the rocky islands of Ha Long are no mere vivid sculptural works but also extraordinary architectures. Numerous islands, large and small, with different shapes, stand amidst an expanse of sea along the 200 km of coast from Bach Dang estuary to Tra Co beach. Many of them bear names given by fishermen according to their shape: Cone-shaped Cookie, Banana, Small Fish, Tortoise, Nail, and wading Ox, walloping Buffalo. Anyone may attribute a name to each rocky island according to his liking. In our program you will take a sea cruise with lunch on boat to admit the beauty of Ha Long Bay.




 

HA LONG ON BOAT

The advantage of this program is that you will overnight on boat in Ha Long Bay. You will have a welcome lunch on boat with champagne to start a two-day sea cruise. The boat is in a very special style with international standards. After visiting to some of the finest caves and islands, you will have a stop for swimming at Titop Beach. In the evening enjoy magnificent sunset and have some fishing. In the morning of the next day, a continuation of sea cruise to visit some grottoes. Lunch on boat, then transfer back to Ha Noi.




 

HA LONG & CAT BA

Cat Ba has more than 360 islands, among of which the largest one is Cat Ba with an area of 100 square km. Cat Ba is famous for its clean and beautiful beaches as well as wonderful seafood. Cat Ba also is a national park hosted more than 20 kinds of animals, 60 kinds of birds and 745 kinds of trees.




 

Taking this tour you will first travel to Ha Long City. Having lunch on boat and enjoying a sea cruise to visit some finest grottoes and caves in Ha Long Bay. You will arrive in Cat Ba Island around 5 PM. Overnight in Cat Ba. Next morning, after some swimming, you will visit Cat Ba National Park. After lunch you will be back to Hai Phong by hydrofoil. Then transfer back to Ha Noi by car.




 

BAC CAN & BA BE LAKE

Bac Can is a homeland of more than five ethnic minorities in Vietnam including Dao and Tay. It is well known for its cultural diversity and natural scenery. Ba Be is the largest lake in the whole country with the length of 8km and the width of 3km. There are some unusual beautiful caves surrounding the lake. More than 400 kinds of trees and 300 kinds of animals are inhabited in Ba Be National Park.




 

Taking this tour you will spend one night in a nice usual town-village. You will have a short trekking to minority village and a boat trip along Nang River to discover Dau Dang waterfall, Ao Tien (Fairy Pond), Pac Ngoi village, Ba Goa Island.




 

SAPA AND SURROUNDINGS

Sapa is a magical combination of alpine landscapes, ethnic cultures and Bracing Mountain air. This far-flung corner of Vietnam was discovered by Jesuit missionary in 1918. The town was dotted with French villa-estates with rambling orchards, gardens, and sloping lawns amid pine trees. Walking to Sapa market on Friday night or Saturday or Sunday when the hill tribes converge on the town to buy and sell supplies and indulge in matchmaking rituals, you may see exotic groups that you would not found anywhere.


Taking this tour, you will be transferred by Victoria train, which depart at night and arrive in the morning to save your valuable time. Staying two nights in Victoria Sapa and having a trek to the villages will be a really vivid combination.
