Arrival in Hanoi. Welcome at Noi
Bai airport and transfer to hotel in Hanoi. Overview of the capital
city : a rickshaw ride in the Old Quarter, Sword Restored Lake, water
puppet show in the evening (typical of wet rice culture in Vietnam).
Day 2. Hanoi – Halong
Morning : Hanoi city tour : Ho Chi
Minh House and Mausoleum, Tran Quoc Pagoda, Temple of Literature.
Lunch. Transfer to Halong, take a chance to overview the Red River
Delta and photos of rice field in Hai Duong province. Overnight in
Halong.
Day 3. Halong – Hanoi
Board the junk for a cruise through
numerous enchanting grottoes to enjoy the magical landscape of
limestone islets. Sea food lunch onboard, explore the most beautiful
caves : Sung Sot - surprising cave and Me Cung. Back to Hanoi.
Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 4. Hanoi – Hue
Transfer to Noi bai airport for
flight to Hue, the ancient capital Vietnam from 1802 to 1945 under the
last dynasty of Nguyen, recognized as a World Heritage site in 1993.
Visit to Hue : Imperial Citadel, Forbidden City, Emperor of Tu Duc
tomb. Enjoy a Royal dinner. Overnight in Hue.
Day 5. Hue – Dong Hoi
Boat ride on Perfume River to visit
Thien Mu Pagoda and Emperor Ming Mang tomb. Overland drive to Dong Hoi.
Visit Quang Tri Citadel on the way. Free time for leisure at Nhat Le
beach. Overnight in Dong Hoi.
Day 6. Dong Hoi – Phong Nha – Hue
Drive to Phong Nha cave, recognized
as a World Heritage site in 2003 which contains many fascinating rock
formations, enchanting visitors with evocative names such as Lion,
Fairy Caves, Royal Court and Buddha. Besides the grotto and cave
system, Phong Nha has the longest underground rivers, the largest
cavern and passageways, the widest and prettiest sand banks, the most
astonish rock formation in the world. Back to Hue for dinner and
overnight.
Day 7. Hue – Da Nang – Hoi An
Overland drive to Da Nang with
stop-over at Hai Van Pass. In Da Nang : visit to Cham Art Museum, the
Marble Mountains. Continue to Hoi An ancient town, recognized as a
World Heritage in 1999. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 8. Hoi An – My Son – Hoi An
Depart for My Son, former sanctuary
of Indianized Champa Kingdom in the First Millennium, recognized as a
World Heritage site in 1999. Back to Hoi An to visit Hoi An. Overnight
in Hoi An.
Day 9. Hoi An – Da Nang – Saigon
Transfer to Da Nang international
airport for a flight to Saigon. Visit to Saigon : Notre Dame Basilique,
the Central Post designed by Gustave Eiffel, Binh Tay market and Thien
Hau Temple in Chinatown, a lacquerware factory. Overnight in Saigon.
Day 10. Saigon departure
Free time and shopping before transfer to airport for departure.
