DAY 1: HANOI -DONGHOI
Evening pick up at hotel and transfer to Hanoi Railway Station for the night train S3 to Dong Hoi.
Accommodation on the train (sharing 4-berth air-conditioned compartment without local tour guide accompanying).

DAY 2: DONGHOI -PHONGNHA - VINHMONG -DONGHA(B,L,D)
Arrive at Dong Hoi Railways Station, meet your local tour guide and transfer to a local restaurant for breakfast. Drive up north to Phong Nha and take a boat trip from a critical point of the Ho Chi Minh trail and visit Phong Nha cave, known as being among the longest and most beautiful karst caves in the world. Return to Dong Hoi for lunch at a local restaurant, then proceed south to Vinh Linh and visit the Vinh Moc tunnels, dug to accommodate an underground village safe from American air raids in the north of the DMZ. Continue to visit the Hien Luong bridge crossing Ben Hai river, which used to be the former borderline between the north and south Vietnam and the site of the former Doc Mieu artilery base on the way to Dong Ha. Check-in,  dinner and accommodation at Hieu Giang or Dong Ha Guesthouse.

DAY 3: DONGHA-KHESANH -HUE(B,L)
Drive to visit the other sites of the former firece battle fields on the DMZ including the former American bases as Rock Piles, Camp Carol and Khe Sanh; take a short walk on the Ho Chi Minh trail (now under process to be the second trans-Vietnam traffic line) and visit a Van Kieu village. Lunch at local restaurant. Continue to view the war-torn ruins of the Quang Tri church and the wreckage of an American tank. Proceed south to Hue and transfer to hotel of your choice (accommodation in Hue not included).
