5 Days Journey to North East Vietnam by road
DAY 1: HANOI-CAO BANG (270km/8hrs) (L/D)

Leave Hanoi early morning for a drive to Lang Son where you will stop for a lunch, then visit Tam Thanh pagoda and enjoy the beautiful landscape on the way. From here it’s a spectacular four-hour drive to Cao Bang as the road weaves and twists through the mountains.
Along the way see the heavily
forested mountain ranges, lush fertile valleys and traditional minority
villages. Arrive in Cao Bang in the late afternoon, if you have spare
time stroll around the town. Overnight in your hotel in Cao Bang. Have
dinner and overnight at a local basic hotel.

DAY 2: VISIT TO BAN GIOC WATERFALL ( B/L/D
|
Journey to Ban Gioc waterfall. Ban
Gioc is one of the biggest at the height of 50metres and about
300metres width. It’s possibly the most impressive waterfalls in the
country, if you wish, take a swim in the cool emerald waters, see China
on the other side of the riverbank and simply enjoy the pleasant
surroundings. Overnight in one of basic hotel in Cao Bang.

DAY 3: CAO BANG- BA BE LAKE (B/L/D)
|
After breakfast at the hotel we
depart for Ba Be Lake( 120km/ 4hours). Upon arrival, we will take a
boat visit to Ba Be lake in 3 hours. Following is go to Tuyen Quang,
have dinner and overnight at the local basic hotel. On the way to Tuyen
Quang, take a short visit to Puong cave.

DAY 4: BABE LAKE- SAPA (B/L/D)
|
After
breakfast, journey to Sapa, a former French hill resort ( 270km/ 8
hours). On the way up the mountain, you enjoy the spectacular scenery
of terraced rice paddy field tended by colorfully dressed local
minority farmers. En route, you pass through Taphin village of Red Dao
ethnic minority. Check in and overnight at a local basic hotel in Sapa.

DAY 5: SAPA- HANOI (B/L/D)
|
We will take a walk through rice paddy fields to the Black H’mong and Giay’ village. Here the Jeep will be waiting for you transferring back to Sapa. Take a short break before your onward departure Lao Cai station for an overnight train back to Hanoi. Arrival Hanoi at 5:30 the next morning.
