minority along the way. These local people live mainly in mountain
areas but still remain their unique cultural identity. Overnight at
Nghia Lo local hotel
Morning departure along less traveled
weaving and twisting road through the mountains that take you to the
Northwestern area ( 240km distance). Along the way, we will see hidden
beauty of primate forests, lush fertile valleys, peaceful rivers
crossings and traditional minority villages. You will have the
opportunity to interact with ethnic minorities en route. The next is to
make an easy walk through the vast tea planting fields and ever green
rice paddy fields approaching to the villages of Red H’mong, Black Dao
and Lu people. Overnight at a basic hotel of Tam Duong.
Have breakfast at Tam Duong then
continue your journey up to Sapa. You will visit Tram Ton Pass, one of
highest mountain pass of Viet nam with the height of 2047 metres above
of sea level. The journey will take you 3 hours from this Pass down to
Sapa town . After checking in your hotel and relax, you will visit the
town, market and have lunch at a local restaurant here. After the
lunch, a leisurely walk down to Cat Cat valley to visit Black H’mong
village along Jeepable trails before reaching Cat Cat village. Rest
weary bones. Then back to the hotel, have dinner and relax.
Russian Jeep will pick you up from
hotel down the Muong Hoa valley to visit Lao Chai village of Black
H’mong. Then a trek further few kms passing through the bamboo forest
and rice paddy fields to visit Ta Van village of Giay ethnic minority.
Stop for home cooked lunch before seeing your Russian Jeep again. Drive
you back to Sapa at around 15:00 pm. Overnight in a local hotel.
The
journey from Sapa to Bac Ha for the picturesque day’s will take you 3
hours driving. There are many photo opportunities along the way. If you
visit Bac Ha on Sunday, you will feel how busy it is from one of the
most colorful hill tribe market-day of Flower Hmong ethnic minority.
Leaving the market behind, after a 2 hour walking you will visit Ban
Pho of H’mong people, stop here for picnic lunch. If you are lucky
enough, the house’s owners can play some traditional music instruments
as a light entertaining you whilst he even can serve visitors some sips
of the region’s most famous rice wine. Following, visit Trung Do
village of Tay people then take a boat trip along Chay river. Car will
pick you from Bao Nha to Lao Cai station. After dinner and relax, board
an overnight train back to Hanoi.
