BABE NATIONAL PARK
This trip puts you right in the heart of upland Vietnam in a remote National Park that is set in limestone Karst Mountains. Babe means "Three Lakes". In fact, there is only one large lake with three different sections.Rivers flow into the lake from all directions and you paddle one river that flows through a large cave. Early morning hikes and paddles from Park headquarters offer rewarding wildlife sightings and sunrise vistas. All the paddling is easy; this trip puts you right inside Vietnam's Thai-speaking hill tribe culture.
Day 1: Ha Noi - Babe (-/L/-)
AM:
Pick up at your place, transfer to Babe. Stop on the way to visit the
Hill tribe museum and produce shopping in Hill Tribe market.
PM: Arrive in Babe Park headquarters.
Day 2: Babe (B/-L/-)
AM:
Depart for river paddle. Begin paddle through marshlands and down easy
and calm Small River. Have picnic lunch on the stream bank.
PM: Arrive at lake, short picnic break, and paddle into the lake. Take out at Park dock.
Day 3: Babe (B/L/-)
AM: Lake Paddle (or Kayaking) put-in from Park dock. Arrive in Hill Tribe village.
PM: Lake Paddle or rendezvous with motor launch & transfer to dock. Optional cultural visit to "Disco Babe"
Day 4: Babe - Ha Noi (B/L/-)
AM: Departure for Ha Noi
