Leave
for Cuc Phuong National Park, an area of limestone cliffs and tropical
forest 160km south of Hanoi. Upon arrival, visit the Endangered Primate
Rescue Centre and the Botanic Garden, where visitors can see some of
the 1,880 species of flora that exist in the park. Overnight in the
park guest house.
*Optional accommodation in bungalows deep in the forest can be requested.
Day 2: CUC PHUONG – HOA LU (B)
Early
morning drive to Bong Station. From Bong Station, go on a bird-watching
walk through the forest. The 6-km trail passes through a wood of giant
trees, some of which are over 1000 years old. In the afternoon, visit a
cave that once was inhabited by the pre-historic peoples. Drive to Hoa
Lu for overnight stay. Overnight in Hoa Lu.
Day 3: HOA LU – HANOI (B)
In
the morning, take a sampan ride to explore the limestone cliffs at Tam
Coc, which literally means “Three Caves”. The region is widely known as
the “Inland Halong Bay”. Return to Hanoi.
