Explore the traditrional area of Mai Chau in 2 days

Day 1: HANOI - MAI CHAU

08.00 Departure. Mai Chau located 150 km North West of Hanoi takes three and a half hours to reach, enjoy the lovely scenery along the way.

Just an hour and a half out of Hanoi after Hoa Binh, the road will slowly weave itself through mountains, fertile valleys and traditional villages. Arrive in the picturesque Mai Chau Valley just before lunch. Soak up the idyllic natural surroundings of the villages, take a walk through the villages or simply relax. In the evening see the village's traditional music and dancing.

Overnight in a traditional stilt-house.

Day 2: MAI CHAU - HANOI

In the morning, drive to Xa Linh Village. Enjoy a trek to one of the local villages; walk along rice-fields and around the valley. Xa Linh is inhabited by the Green H'Mong, if you are lucky to be there on a Sunday you can catch the weekly market. Drive back to Mai Chau for lunch, and then depart in the afternoon for Hanoi.
As you arrive at the top of the Mai Chau valley itself, don't forget to take some photographs, as it is always an impressive sight.
Arrival in Hanoi in the late afternoon.
The home stay accommodation consists of comfortable curtained off sleeping areas in one long room, all bedding and mosquito nets are provided.
