Mekong delta on board the bassac

Day 1 HO CHI MINH CITY / CAN THO / VINH LONG    (L/D)

Depart early in the morning from your hotel and drive to Can Tho, the largest town in the Mekong Delta. If time permits, stroll through Can Tho market before boarding the Bassac around noon. The Bassac is a converted and fully equipped traditional rice barge. After getting acquainted with the crew, cast off for a memorable cruise to Vinh Long, followed by the Tra On floating market. While admiring the beautiful scenery and everyday life of the Mekong Delta, enjoy a local lunch on board. Later, you can relax on the upper deck. In the middle of the afternoon, we weigh anchor and visit a village on the banks of either the Co Chien or Mang Thit River where you can sample tropical fruits before returning aboard the Bassac to enjoy the sunset. Local dinner on board as the boat reaches its destination near My Thuan Bridge in Vinh Long.

Day 2 VINH LONG / CAI BE / HO CHI MINH CITY   (B/L)

In the morning, enjoy a Western style breakfast while the ship continues to Cai Be. Check out of the ship and board a small local boat to visit the floating market and a family-run business. Disembark in Cai Be and have lunch in a local restaurant. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City at the beginning of the afternoon stopping along the way at the Cao Dai temple at Ben Luc. Arrive by the end of the afternoon.
