The real Vietnam's Mekong delta tour

Day 1: Hochiminh City arrive

Arrive in Hochiminh City and transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. While Hanoi is considered the center of arts and culture, Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Hochiminh City) is the commercial hub of Vietnam and, certainly its most bustling city. The place springs to life early in the morning with the hustle and bustle of the local markets and incessant honks from all manner of vehicles. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Hochiminh City – Phu Quoc

Tranfer to the airport for a flight to Phu Quoc (10h15 - 11h15). Arrive and drive for your hotel and check in.
Free time at the beach. Overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Phu Quoc

Depart by bus to Ham Ninh fishing village. Then visit the ancient P.O.W detention camp of 40,000 inmates during the war covering on 400 hectares that was built at An Thoi by the Hochiminh City regime. Then visit the Khem bay, Da Ban stream (camping, swimming, climbing, exploring wildlife and enjoying seafood), the Thanh Ha fish sauce village, Khu Tuong pepper gardens and Dinh Cau temple.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 4: Phu Quoc

After breakfast, Get on a pleasure boat to Mong Tay islet to fish. Visit the Long beach (camping, swimming) and have lunch on the beach.
Snorkel and explore coral reefs in Doi Moi Islet in the afternoon.
Return to your hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Phu Quoc – Rach Gia – Ha Tien

Fligt to Rach Gia and drive for Ha Tien (92km). Visit to a pagoda situated in a cave. A boat ride through thousand of limestone peaks of Gulf of Siam. Sunset over the China Sea.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Ha Tien – Chau Doc

Head out for Chau Doc. Arrive and check in hotel.
Take a ride boat to visit the Chau Phu floating village. Then visit the Sam Mountain, the Ba Chua Xu temple, the Tay An pagoda, the Thoai Ngoc Hau Tomb and the Tao Ngo garden.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 7: Chau Doc – Cho Moi – Long Xuyen

Take a boat to visit catfish-processing farms. Catfish is a locals’major source of riches. Visit a village and a mosque of Cham ethnic minority. Lunch on bord.
The boat sails to Cho Moi. Arrive in Cho Moi and stopover in a botanic garden that is the land of storks. Continue the cruise and overnight on board.

Day 8: Long Xuyen – Can Tho

In the early morning, the noise of the floating market wake you up, see the sunrise  and have breakfast on board.
Take a sampan ride to visit Ong Ho island and fruit orchards.
Cruise to Can Tho with a stop at an islet on the heart of Hau Giang.
Arrive Can Tho, check in the hotel.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 9: Can Tho

Cruise to the colourful Cai Rang floating market and to floating villages. Walking tour of fruit orchards. The boat is then back to dry land.
A bike ride throught the surrounding countryside of Can Tho.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 10: Can Tho – Cai Be – Ben Tre

Cruise from Can Tho to Ben Tre via Cai Be where you will visit its bustling floating market and a craft village. Have lunch.
The boat navigates to Ben Tre, the land of coconuts. Sunset over the Mekong.
Overnight on board.

Day 11: Ben Tre - My Tho – Hochiminh City

Sunrise over the Mekong. Stroll or bike ride along the countryside of Ben Tre.
Continue the cruise to My Tho. Disembark and drive back to Hochiminh City.
Overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Depart Hochiminh City

Departure day. At leisure for shopping until transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for onward flight.
