- summer and winter. Summers are dry and warm, averaging 25 to 33
degrees. Winters (October to March) can be cool with temperatures in
Hanoi averaging 10 to 20 degrees in January. Some winter months
experience a light, drizzling rain. In central and south Vietnam, the
“dry” season runs from November to May. Temperatures average between 22
and 30 degrees. The “wet” season is characterized by brief showers late
in the afternoon with temperatures ranging from 25 to 33 degrees. DETAILED ITINERARY Day 1: Hanoi Arrival (D)
You
will be welcomed by our guide by arrival at Hanoi Airport. We transfer
you with a comfortable vehicle to the city center of Hanoi to check-in
in your hotel. In the evening you have dinner in a local restaurant.
Accommodation. Day 02 : Hanoi - Ha Long bay
(B, L, D)
Morning
depart for Halong Bay, we go through the scenic countryside. The
wondrous Halong Bay is truly one of Vietnam’s most impressive scenic
sights. Heading out of the town we embark on a boat for an exploration
of the legendary Halong Bay. This exciting five hour cruise will
provide us a fantastic view of the picturesque scenery blending with
the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands rising amazingly from the
clear and emerald water. The limestone karsts formations are littered
with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves. Along the way we will
anchor for a leisurely swim in a secluded cove and an enjoyable visit
to one of the many hidden grottoes beneath towering cliffs. Stay
overnight on the Junk Cruise. Day 3: Ha Long - Ha Noi

Drive
back to Ha Noi with a stopover at Dong Trieu pottery village. Free
afternoon at Ha Noi for own activities with guide at disposal. Hotel:
Overnight in Hanoi Day 04 : Hanoi
(B, L)
Visit
the Ho Chi Minh Quarter, including the mausoleum, museum, Ho Chi Minh
house and One Pillar Pagoda. Continue to the Temple of Literature then
stop at the famous “Hanoi Hilton” - the former prison. After visiting
the "Hanoi Hilton", start cyclo tour around Hanoi’s attractive streets.
In the evening see a unique display of water puppetry. Accommodation. Day 5: Hanoi - Mai Chau (B, L, D)
We
drive west to the high mountains around beautiful Mai Chau, stopping at
the Ethnology museum and a Muong minority village en route. We stay
with the White Thai people, explore the village and enjoy their
hospitality. Accommodation: LOCAL HOMESTAY (basic). Day 6: Mai Chau - Ha Noi
(B, L)
We
rise early and walk through rice fields to neighboring villages and
meet the people. We return to Hanoi late afternoon. Accommodation Day 7: Hanoi - Hue
(B, D)
After
breakfast free time to explore Hanoi. In the afternoon, transfer to the
airport for a flight to Hue. Dinner and free time. Accommodation in
Hue. Day 8: Hue - DMZ - Khe Sanh
(B, L)
After
breakfast, start the journey to visit Khe Sanh, the Rockpile, the
former border at Ben Hai bridge and the Vinh Moc tunnels. In the
afternoon drive back toHue along Highway 1. Overnight in Hue. Day 09 : Hue Ancient Capital (B, L, D) We
visit the Citadel, former home to the emperors, and travel by dragon
boat along the Perfume river to Thien Mu pagoda, then drive to the
tombs of Emperors Tu Duc and Khai Dinh. In the evening sample Hue’s
amous cuisine. Day 10 : Hue - Hoi An (B,L) We
drive over spectacular Hai Van Pass to the Cham museum in Danang, then
to the Marble Mountains where we explore caves and Buddhist shrines.
Following a visit to nearby China Beach, we continue south to
enchanting Hoi An. Overnight in Hoi An. Day 11: Hoi An - My Son (B, L, D) Morning
boat ride on the Thu Bon River followed by walking tour of historic Hoi
An. We follow narrow lanes with centuries old buildings influenced by
Chinese, Japanese & European architecture. We also visit the town’s
market and riverfront area. In the afternoon we head out to the 4th
century Cham ruins at My Son. Overnight in Hoi An. Day 12: Hoi An - Da Nang - Nha Trang (B, L, D)
Today
we take the train from Danang station, through beautiful rural Vietnam
to the beach resort of Nha Trang. We see village life, rice fields and
country Vietnam pass by at a gentle speed. Accommodation Day 13: Nha Trang (B, L)
A
day of leisure and indulgence as we cruise through pristine waters off
Nha Trang. Enjoy swimming, snorkelling, massages and a fresh local
seafood lunch. Return to Nha Trang mid afternoon for some free time to
explore the town or swim at the main beach. Overnight in Nha Trang. Day 14: Nha Trang - Da Lat (B, L, D)
We
ascend Ngoan Muc Pass to the central highlands and Dalat, a quaint
hillstation surrounded by pine forests and French villas. Accommodation
Day 15: Da Lat (B, L) We
see Vietnam’s most colourful market, meet unusual local artists and
cycle or walk to a picturesque lake and enjoy a short train ride
through the surrounding villages. The rest of the day is free to relax
where the climate is cooler and you will have a chance to recharge
batteries after 2 weeks on the road. Day 16: Da Lat - Ho Chi Minh (B, L, D) We
leave Dalat, driving through coffee and tea plantations around Bao Loc
and past a floating village at Langa Lake before arriving in Ho Chi
Minh City (Saigon). Accommodation Day 17: Ho Chi Minh City (B, L) Today’s
walking tour takes us up famous Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat)
past the theatre, Rex Hotel, Town Hall, and Notre Dame Cathedral. We
visit the former Presidential Palace and the War Crimes Museum and then
drive to bustling (Chinatown). Visit Binh Tay, the huge wholesale
market and the ornate Thien Hau temple before returning to the hotel.
Spend the afternoon as you wish. Day 18: Sai Gon - Cu Chi (B, L, D) This
morning we visit the famous Vietcong tunnels at Cu Chi. Covering nearly
250km, they were shelter to over 16,000 communist guerillas during the
war. You will have the chance to crawl through some of the tunnels
before returning to Saigon mid afternoon. Day 19: Sai Gon - Can Tho (B, L) Travel
deep into the lush Mekong Delta, and spend the day in the rice bowl of
Vietnam and one of the most industrious parts of South East Asia. We
stay in the main provincial town of Can Tho, a short walk from the busy
waterside market. Accommodation Day 20: Can Tho - Chau Doc (B, L, D) This
morning board your boat for a visit to the fascinating floating market
at Cai Rang. See local farmers trading their produce on the water as
they have done for cent uries. We then travel deeper into the Mekong
Delta with a unique opportunity to discover a side of Delta life few
tourists experience. On arrival in Chau Doc visit the floating fish
farms, then Sam Mountain for sunset with its breathtaking views over
rice paddies to the Cambodian border. Accommodation Day 21: Chau Doc - Sai Gon (B, L, D) A
full day journey by boat and bus through the Mekong Delta to bustling
Saigon. Tonight share a farewell dinner with your fellow travellers.
Overnight in Saigon. Day 22: Sai Gon Departure
Free untill transfer to TAN SON NHAT airport for flying to your next destionation. Hanoi
