WILD NORTH-EAST ADVENTURE
Day 1: Arrival - HANOI (-/-/-)
On arrival at Noi Bai Airport, you are met and transferred to hotel for
check in. City tour to visit the Temple of Literature, Tran Quoc pagoda
and Hoan Kiem Lake with Ngoc Son Temple (if time permits).
Then you enjoy a tour by cyclo around the old quarter streets to discover the local people life.
O/N in Hanoi.
Day 2: HANOI - BABE LAKE (B/-/D)
Depart from Hanoi to Ba Be via Thai Nguyen where you visit the
Ethnology Museum. After Thai Nguyen, the road snakes up through scenic
landscapes of the north west of Vietnam until Ba Be Lake..
O/N in Ba Be.
Day 3: BABE LAKE (B/L/D)
Today, we enjoy a tranquil boat trip downstream Nang River to Ba Be
Lake exploring the unspoiled tropical National Park with stop to visit
Puong limestone grotto, Dau Dang waterfall. After the picnic lunch,
continue by boat to Tay people village. Visit the village and
experience the local activities.
Dinner and overnight in Tay village.
Day 4: BABE LAKE - PAC BO GROTTO - CAO BANG (B/L/-)
Our journey continues to Cao Bang. The roads are very bumpy and
zigzagging, but the spectacular mountainous landscapes with undulating
terrace and hill villages make our hardship all worthwhile. Before
arriving in Cao Bang, you have a short drive to visit Bac Bo grotto,
where Ho Chi Minh returned on February 1941 after 30 years of living
abroad in search of a way to liberate the country.
O/N in Cao Bang.
Day 5: FULL DAY TO NGUOM NGAO GROTTO & BAN GIOC WATERFALL (B/L/-)
Transfer to Nguom Ngao Grotto via the scenic pass of Ma Phuc. Take
a short trek to Nguom Ngao Grotto, one of the nicest grottoes in the
North-East of Vietnam. Continue by road to Ban Gioc Waterfall, the
largest waterfall in Vietnam, which sits on the Chinese border. Rafting
and having picnic lunch.
Drive back to Cao Bang.
O/N in Cao Bang.
Day 6: CAO BANG - LANG SON (B/L/-)
Transfer to Lang Son. This border town was once destroyed by war.
On arrival in Lang Son we spend a couple of hour drive around the town,
stopping at the bustling market of Ky Lua and the legendary rock
formation named " wife waiting for husband" and the beautiful Ki Kung
River, which is Vietnam’s unique river flowing to China.
O/N in Lang Son.
Day 7: LANG SON - HALONG BAY (B/L/D)
After breakfast, transfer to Halong Bay.
12.30: We are welcome on the traditional junk and have welcome drink.
Start the boat trip to visit Halong Bay, listed as a World Heritage
Area of outstanding natural beauty. This picturesque “Dragon descending
to the sea” Bay has 1,969 limestone islets rising from the sea, many of
them containing beautiful grottoes. Visit of a grotto then seafood
lunch on board.
The excursion includes the visit to Con Cho island, Dinh Huong island,
Canh Buom island, Ga Choi island. Swimming on Titop or Hoa Cuong beach.
Watching sunset. Fishing with seine and owing bamboo boat (on request).
Dinner and overnight on board.
Day 8: HALONG BAY - HANOI (Br/-)
Continue to visit other corners of Halong Bay. Brunch is served on board.
11h30: Transfer back to Hanoi with stopover at Dong Trieu ceramic village.
16h00: Arrive in Hanoi. Free time.
Evening: the Water puppets show, the unique traditional art in Vietnam
O/N in Hanoi.
Day 9: HANOI - Departure (B/-/-)
At leisure until transfer to Noi Bai Airport for departure flight.
