Another destination for traveller to discover: Ngoc Vung island, which is 34km away from pier, Van Don (Vân Đồn) archipalego, Quang Ninh (Quảng Ninh) province. It takes about one hour and a half to depart from Duc (Đục) ferry.

Being a soil island with the area of 12km2, surrounded with fabulous beaches, Ngoc Vung island has an ancient quay named Cong Yen (Cống Yên), a member of ancient system of trading ports, Van Don (Vân Đồn) from the 11th century; relic of ancient citadel under Mac (Mạc) dynasty and Nguyen (Nguyễn) dynasty.

To the East of the island, there is a purely white sand-bank of several kilometers, stretching out to the pier. Entire Co To (Cô Tô) archipalego can be in view if tourists stand on the peak named Mat Ron (Mắt Rồng). Ngoc Vung island is both nice and friendly, local residents pursuit their hunting oysters to take pearl.

To the South of the island is Ngoc Vung beach with 3km sand bank glistening in the sunlight. Tourists/travellers may bathe, go sightseeing, and even play with local kids, together catch "còng gió" small but fast crabs on the beach.

Camp-fire night on the island

This island suits unprofessional tours with well-bathing, collective sleep since it has not developed many services. At night, in a peaceful space with cool wind, it would be ideal to hold camp-fires, grill fish, enjoy sea-food, sing and dance.
