Thoi Son Islet Tourist Area
The attractiveness and charm of Thoi Son (Thới Sơn) are when coming to this land, people will forget the animation of the town. Tourists who come to Thoi Son, will row the boat along zigzag small irrigation canals between two rows of bushy nipa, between rows of willow trees growing along the banks of the river which are oblique to welcome tourists. If you would like to saunter, you will go along the winding stone street, cross luxuriant fruit gardens. Tourists can sit in garden houses, sipping a cup of tea with honey and listening to amateur folk music. The night at Thoi Son is very marvelous with moon, wind, and immense wave. Tourists can row boats in the river, enjoying the moon, or sitting together with some friends to drink in smooth and profound singing voice of country girls.

houses of 6,000 Thoi Son people are maintained their ancientness and
primitiveness. The tourist spot at Mr. Tam Cho (Tám Cho) house is a
symbol for the type of ancient houses. His house was built with a row
of cam xe (căm xe) timbers; each roof has 9 purlins arranged according
to the science of winds and waters: Solid - Expel - Satisfaction -
Safety - Stability - Challenge - Saving - Danger - Success. Indoors,
the decoration way is also according to ancient style including the
altar inlaid with shining mother-of-pearl, the settee carved well, and
the couple of scrolls carved red-lacquered and gilded parallel
sentences, ... Surrounding area of house is the garden of flowers with
a lot of pot plants planted and trimmed meticulously. Coming to Thoi
Son, tourists can observe the way of making coconut candy by hand, buy
some arts and crafts and households made of coconut trees. Beside the
program of ecotourism, Thoi Son people also introduce tourists about
their eating culture with food such as grilled fish, keo (kèo) fish
hot-pot, loc (lóc) fish steamed with calabashes, fried tai tuong (tai
tượng) fish, ...
