
The Lady Pô Nagar Temple festival is the greatest festival in religious direction in the region, organized in Po Nagar temples, on the hill at Cai (Cái) mouthin, in the north of Nha Trang city
According to the legend, Lady is mother of
the region, who has the merit of building the region, perpetuating the
line, finding rice, and teaching how to cultivate to the inhabitants...
adored by the minority ethnos group Chams. Many years passed, she
became the goddess also of Viets.

From
20th to 23rd lunar March, the inhabitants of the region celebrate
solemnly the ceremony of worshiping Lady with the rites: changing
clothing on March 20th. On this date, people take off the old hat and
clothing, wash the statue of the Lady with perfume water and cover her
with new clothing. Afterwards, on March 23rd, the ceremony of
worshipping is celebrated in a crowned way to praise the merits of the
Mother and to pray for a peaceful, happy life. After the ceremony, it
is the festival with primarily the mode of dance exerted by the Champa
dancers found on relieves of the temples vestiges of Lady, dances to
offer the flowers and the traditional opera in front of the principal
temple. Before, people still organized very original contests of kouffa
at foot of the temple.

The Lady Pô Nagar Temple festival attracts not only the Viets, Chams people in Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa (Khánh Hòa) but also from all the corners in the country who come with presentations, animated plays in front of the principal temple.
