Centrally located in Ha Long bay - a world natural heritage, Sung Sot cave is subordinate to Bo Hon island. It was named as "grotto les suprices" (cave of surprises). This is really a huge and splendid cave ranked as the most magnificent caves of Ha Long. On the other hand, being centrally located, this cave also gathers a lot of rock islands with unique shapes that can be found nowhere else.

Way to Sung Sot cave is in the shade of leaf canopy with precarious stone footsteps that bring about feeling of being mountain climbers and going up to Heave. This cave is divided into two major chambers of which the first chamber is like a huge theatre. Cave's ceiling is covered by a "velvety rug" with plenty of glistening and shinning stalactite chandeliers, stone statues, stone elephants, seal, dew-berry, flowers, plants, etc. All seem to move in a fanciful world in which the real and unreal worlds are interposing. With astonishment of the first chamber remained, you will enter the second chamber through a narrow road. A beam of light floods splendidly and an absolutely beautiful landscape is just in front of you. This chamber is so huge that it may hold up to thousands of people. Standing right at the entrance of this chamber are a stone horse and a long sword. Legend has it that Thanh Giong (Thánh Gióng) after crushing out An (Ân) aggression, helped people to drive ghost away. He then flew back to Heaven, left the sword and beloved horse on earth to both reassure people and drive ghost away.

Presently, there are a lot of natural images that seem to be traces of those fierce fights. His horse's footprints had become small ponds and lakes with many crushed rocks. Going deep inside, you may see a lot of amazing landscapes such as stalactites, ancient banian tree with luxuriant canopy, sea bear, dinosaur, etc. On the peak of the cave, suddenly does a royal garden turn up with a clear blue lake, charming landscape, animals and plants together settling down such as cycad, ancient banian tree, birds, etc. On fine days, flocks of monkeys come here to look for their foods. They really stir this place up.
