The Hau River Farm in Can Tho Province has established a fruit production and service club incorporating over 100 farms. The club is responsible for supporting mango production and applying post-harvest technology to ensure high-quality products. The farm aims to improve productivity amongst the province's mango growers, to increase the value of Hoa Loc mangoes, and to set up its own trademark for exports.

Club members are supported with financial aid of more than VND200 million in order to improve their skills in caring for mango trees. At present, there are about 1,875 households growing some 150,000 mango trees in the province, with a yield of some 10,000 tonnes per year.

In addition to this, the farm is also working to improve the quality of Hoa Loc Cat mangoes with the support of scientists from the Can Tho Science and Technology Department, the Agriculture Department of Can Tho University and the Southern Fruits Research Institute.
