Wooden church in Kon Tum

Welcoming tourists with meandering roads in fog early morning, but in blazing sunlight at noon, by romantic and blue Dak Blah river which interposes at the foot of imposing Ngoc Linh chain, Kon Tum town naturally and mightily turns up as its residents - people from Tay Nguyen (Tây Nguyên).

The church stands on a vast area with various closed-loop works: church - lounge - exhibition centre of ethnic groups and religions - communal house. Besides, there is also an orphanage, a brocade weaving and sewing base, a carpentry base, which attract several tens of charitable laborers. From a long distance, the church is viewed as a wooden work in compliance with Roman design and tourist may see imposingly high steeple in sky. Pillars and wooden frames are tightly put together inside the church Ceilings, which have been beautiful and solid for over 80 years, are made of ratters, bamboo battens, soil, and straw. Holy palace of the church is decorated in compliance with design of Tay Nguyen's ethnic minorities, which is solemn but close-knit.

Inside the church

Tourists may find themselves much astonished since such a big and very beautiful work was manually built. The church is much more beautiful thanks to a high communal house and statues made of roots of trees that bring about unique cultural characters of ethnic minorities. Tourists may pay a visit to the church precinct, brocade weaving and sewing base; enjoy mulberry wine, grape wine made by nuns.

Being considered as the most beautiful and ancient vestige, Kon Tum church which is closely known as the wooden church is always the pride of residents in Tay Nguyen.
